system requirements - WINDOWS server
This area provides the instructions for configuring your WINDOWS server for use with smc technologies software. This configuration is required for all WINDOWS installations.

1) Install ActivePerl from ActiveState

ActivePerl can be downloaded from ActiveState free of charge at - www.activestate.com
2) Mapping of .cgi extension to the Perlis.dll file in Microsoft IIS:
a) Enter IIS properties control panel for cgi-bin or equivalent folder for executable scripts for your website.

b) Click "Home Directory"

c) Click "Configuration"

d) Under "App Mappings", add the extension ".cgi" and map to the file Perlis.dll, found in the Perl installation area of the server.

e) Click ok when done.

f) Under "Home Directory" tab, set "Execute Permissions" to "Scripts and Executables"

3) Configure email settings

For email delivery, you must have access to one of the following options:

a) SMTP server and SMTP authentication information.
b) Blat installation on server. Download Blat at the following url:
    http://www.interlog.com/~tcharron/blat.html

If you are installing the software, a section is provided in the online installer to make your email settings active. If we are installing the software, please forward your SMTP or BLAT settings to support@smctechnologies.com when requesting your installation.
